Abstract
Records of an organization initially called La Crosse Public Library Friends that began in April 1964. Encouraged by the library director and a board member, the group's initial goal was to help promote a referendum to build a new library facility in the City of La Crosse, Wisconsin. The group permanently reorganized as Friends of the La Crosse Public Library in June 1967.
