Lois Elizabeth Hatch was born and raised in Northern Wisconsin near New Richmond, Wis. She attended UW River Falls "Normal School" and trained there to become a teacher. She graduated at the beginning of World War II and taught in several rural Wisconsin schools as well as Chippewa Falls and then came to La Crosse to teach by 1950. She first taught at Franklin School then Hamilton School, coming finally to Spence Elementary in 1953 until she retired in the mid 1980s. Papers include teaching licenses, photographs of her and her students, a few materials related to St. Luke's Methodist Church...
