La Crosse scenes
Scope and Contents
The collection includes some biographical information about George Haberman and photographic prints of Haberman family members and La Crosse area scenes.
The collection includes positive copy prints from glass slide negative photographic images. There are several self-portraits of Haberman, his parents Frank and Mary (Stier) Haberman, and other family members who are all unidentified. La Crosse scenes include a horse trotting or race track, the building front at 524 Main St. (Pryor's Photographic Studio), backside of the Woolworth's Building, the inside of a restaurant, Pettibone Park bridge and lagoon, and a farm house scene.
The original glass slides were transferred to the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse's Murphy Library - Special Collections Department. Reprints may be made through the Special Collections Dept., but please have the negative numbers in hand that are written on the backside of each photograph.
