The materials in this collection consist of Photographs, Publications, Personal Papers and Secondary Sources. The photographer has labelled the photographs and computer files. The Photographs have been arranged by subject and include local and larger art, bridges, buildings, celebrities, churches, events, libraries, parks, people, residences, rivers, schools, sports, streets and alleys, transportation, miscellaneous, and unidentified digital photographs. The Publications, Personal materials and Secondary Sources have been arranged by title in alphabetical order, the bracketed referent "[materials]" indicates where multiple drafts and revisions are present.

Exhibits include a poster and photocopied guest book of the 1987 photographic exhibit in Korea called "For the Ladies who Like Rossini" by David J. Marcou and text from the 2000 photographic exhibit at La Crosse Public Library called "Picturing our World" by David J. Marcou and his son Matthew Marcou.
