Abstract

This is a copy of the auction catalog compiled by the Milwaukee Auction Galleries of personal property from the estate of Helen Dorset. The last direct La Crosse descendent of Wilson Colwell to live in the family home at 330 South 6th Street, Helen became the de facto curator of family art, antiques and books, as well general household items. The auction took three days.

The original owner of the catalog was John Holtheimer and eventually the catalog was donated to the Special Collections Department of the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. The catalog includes Hotlheimer's notes of the sale price for most items.
