Rolv K. Slungaard Translated Typescript of Adolf Gundersen Diary, 1894-1895
Abstract
Diary of Adolf Gundersen, M. D., from the years of 1894-1895, which includes the chronological accounts of his medical cases. Gundersen was the founder of the Gundersen Clinic of La Crosse, Wisconsin. The diary was translated by Rolv K. Slungaard, M.D., in July of 1994.

Biographical Note
Adolph Gundersen was born in 1865 in the Solor region of Hedmark, Norway, He graduated with a medical degree from the Royal University of Oslo in 1890. The following year he left Norway to join his friend, Christian Christensen, M. D., in medical practice at La Crosse, Wisconsin, for one year. Business went well and Gundersen opted to spend his lifetime in La Crosse, raising eight children with his Norwegian born wife Helga. Four of the children joined their father in the first Gundersen Clinic which opened in 1930. The elder Gundersen died in 1938.
