John Toland and Hayden Hauser Correspondence on 1402 King Street, La Crosse, Wisconsin
Abstract
Photocopies of correspondence dated 1987-1996 between John Toland and Hayden Hauser. Toland was trying to accurately portray his grandfather's house at 1402 King Street in La Crosse, Wisconsin, for his book Captured by History. Hauser was the owner and resident of the house at the time. Also included are photocopies of an early draft and final copy of chapter two of Captured by History. Toland was a Pulizer Prize winning author who was born in La Crosse in 1912.
