The Bob Voigt Papers include a copy of "The First Day of the Rest of My Life," written by Voigt in 1993 (with an update added in 1997); and a copy of a Winona, Minnesota, newspaper article from 1946: "Doctors Work to Save Feet of Dakota Youth."

Biographical Note

Gene Robert "Bob" Voigt was a former resident of Dakota, Minnesota; in 1946, Voigt and Richard "Dick" Westness suffered exposure during a duck hunting trip in the Mississippi River, which resulted in an amputation for Voigt.
