Cameron Family Correspondence
Abstract
Cameron Family correspondence consists of 42 handwritten letters written by Peter Cameron, Jane Cameron, Daniel Cameron, Catherine McVeen, Jane McPherson, D. Richardson, Angus Cameron, Walter McArthur, S. F. Pamerson and G. M. Elliott. Letters were written largely from Prairie La Crosse and its successor La Crosse, Wisconsin; Prairie du Chien, Wisconsin; Galena, Illinois; Kalamazoo, Michigan; Minnesota; and La Crescent, Minnesota.
Two sons of the Daniel Cameron, Sr., family, namely Peter and Daniel Jr., were pioneers in the development of La Crosse, Wisconsin, and neighboring La Crescent, Minnesota, in the early 1850s.
Also included is an inventory list prepared by the Fay family in chronological order.
