Abstract
Service Transfer and Storage Company, Inc. was operational in La Crosse, Wis., from 1923-1956, under the ownership of Earl and Luella (Knutson) Schultz. The materials include two written histories of the company: "Service Transfer and Storage Company: A History Written for Mrs. Luella Schultz," by Shannon Marx (1988) and "History of Service Transfer adn STorage Compnay, 1923-1956, La Crosse, Wisconsin," by Jerry Keene of Tomah, Wis., that appeared in Wheels of Time (magazine), Junly/August 1997 pp. 14-16.
Also two large metal binder clips and a memo pad with the company logos are included.

Historical Note
Service Transfer and Storage Company, Inc. was operational in La Crosse, Wis., from 1923-1956, under the ownership of Earl and Luella (Knutson) Schultz. At the end of the 1930s, Service began to be a sizable Midwest carrier, having destinations as far north as St. Paul, Minn., and as far south as Chicago, Ill., east to Milwaukee, Wis. Other Wisconsin terminal cities included Prairie du Chien, Eau Clair and Madison.
In 1956 the company was sold to Hayes Freight Lines, also known as Midwest Emery of Springfield, Ill. The business was moved from La Crosse.
