Booklet of translated correspondence between Dr. Adolph Gundersen and his family and friends in Norway, 1894-1939. The original letters are in Norwegian and are reproduced in the booklet along with the typed transcription into English.
The correspondence is generally not medical in nature but contains personal correspondence.

Biographical Note
Adolph Gundersen was born in 1865 in the Solor region of Hedmark, Norway, He graduated with a medical degree from the Royal University of Oslo in 1890. The following year he left Norway to join his friend, Christian Christensen, M. D., in medical practice at La Crosse, Wisconsin, for one year. Business went well and Gundersen opted to spend his lifetime in La Crosse, raising eight children with his Norwegian born wife Helga. Four of the children joined their father in the first Gundersen Clinic which opened in 1930. The elder Gundersen died in 1938.
