Historical Note
Originally called the La Crosse Rubber Mills, LaCrosse Footwear, Inc. was started in La Crosse, Wis., in 1897. The product line was developed around outdoor boots and shoes. In 1986 the name of the company was changed to LaCrosse Footwear, Inc. Operations were moved to Portland, Ore., In 2001, LaCrosse Footwear, Inc. moved its headquarters from La Crosse to Portland, Oregon, to join forces with its sister company Danner, Inc. In 2012, ABC-Mart, a Toyko-based retailer, bought LaCrosse Footwear.
