Albert E. Parkinson Papers
Scope and Contents
The Albert E. Parkinson Papers include a variety of school related materials from Parkinson's time as a student at the International Correspondence Schools. The materials found in the collection include instruction booklets (1899-1900), a course catalog (1900), and Parkinson's assignments (1900-1902).
This collection also includes Parkison's correspondences with the International Correspondence Schools, (1900-1902) one of Parknison's receipts for textbooks, and an enrollment certificate (1902).
There are also a couple of miscellaneous papers such as a customs declaration of Parkinson's (1936) and a single later correspondence (1938).

Biographical Note
Albert E. Parkinson was born in England (b. February 17, 1870) and was taught architecture by his father before he attended the International Correspondence Schools between 1900 and 1902. He worked as an engineer and contractor in Sparta, Wisconsin, before forming an architectural firm in La Crosse with Bernard Dockendorff. During his architectural career, Parkinson designed many buildings in the La Crosse area. Albert Parkinson died September 21, 1952.
The International Correspondence Schools started in Pennsylvania in 1891 by Thomas J. Foster, and remains in existence as of 2013 (under the name Penn Foster Career School).
