Biographical Note

The Mississippi River Regional Planning Commission was established in 1964 to address physical, social, and economic issues along the Mississippi River in Western Wisconsin, and remains active as of 2013. The Mississippi River Regional Planning Commission consists of nine counties (Buffalo, Crawford, Jackson, La Crosse, Monroe, Pepin, Pierce, Trempealeau and Vernon), with a board of 27 commissioners. The Commission meets with local businesses, organizations, or government officials to aid in the development of regional projects.
