Biographical Note

The Rev. Frederich Wilhelm Hass (1818-1890) was born and grew up in Prussia. He became a teacher at an early age before deciding to go into ministry. Coming to America in 1856, he and his family stopped in a couple of towns before making their way to La Crosse, Wisconsin. Rev Hass and his wife had 12 children.
