Abstract The Art Association of La Crosse was founded February 22, 1915, in the art department of the Normal School (later known as the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse). The Association became a chapter of the National Federation of Arts. The main purpose of the Association was to sponsor exhibits and talks on art in La Crosse. Abstract

The La Crosse Society of Arts and Crafts published a newsletter with two name changes."The La Crosse Society of Arts and Crafts Newsletter" was published from 1984-1990, and again from 2007-2008.

The "Palette Patter" was published from 1990-2004, and again from 2008 on. There were also three issues published with test titles that were only used once. Palette was also spelled Pallet, Palatte, and Pallette on some issues.
