Records of a study group of the La Crosse, Wis., chapter of the American Association of University Women, devoted to the study of literature and books. The group call themselves "Bookfellows," and were founded in 1935. Materials include by-laws (1945-1996), bibliographies, minute books (1935-1995), programs, and an historical scrapbook, covering 1935-1998.

Abstract The La Crosse, Wisconsin, chapter of the Daughters of Norway, Ornen Lodge #25 (organized in 1908) was part of a national fraternal organization dedicated to the socialization, mutual assistance, and preservation of the Norwegian language and heritage in the United States. The Floral Arts Garden Club was organized in 1964 and affiliated with the National Council of State Garden Clubs and the Wisconsin Garden Club Federation. The collection consists mainly of artistically hand decorated yearbooks from 1964-1984. The last known year of the club's existence is 1985.

Abstract The Study Club of La Crosse (Wisconsin) was organized in 1928, under the name Thursday Study Club. In 1929, the group became affiliated with the Wisconsin Federation of Women’s Clubs. At biweekly meetings, club members took turns presenting programs of intellectual interest or inviting guest speakers to lecture. "The La Crosse YWCA: The Way it Was" is a recollection written in March, 2001, by Marian E. Johnson. Johnson was a resident at the YWCA (known informally then as "Pasadena") in the 1940s; this building was located at the corner of West Avenue and Main Street in La Crosse, Wisconsin.
