Howard W. Colvin (1908-1991) was an artist who served in World War II in the U. S. Army Air Force. On his discharge from military service, he began a 24-year career with the La Crosse Tribune newspaper, serving as the Retail Advertising Manager for 18 of those years.A photocopied diary of Colvin's records his daily activites in military training from May-August 1942. Abstract
Elmer C. Low began Low & Dickson Motor Co. as a partnership with Harold L. Dickson after the two were salesmen at Elsen & Neeland Co. car dealership. The partnership dissolved in 1937 when Low bought out Dickson’s interest. Elmer’s son Jack started working for his dad in 1951. Franchises owned throughout the years included De Soto-Plymouth, Mercury-Edsel-Lincoln, American Motors and Jeep lines.
