Abstract
The Merlinda Schleiter papers include materials relating to the World War I homefront (as experienced in La Crosse, Wisconsin), and to Schleiter's work with food conservation and liberty bonds. A fabric armband with the words "Council of Defense" and a Victory Liberty Loan medal are included, as are some materials from the La Crosse Community Council (latter materials date from the 1920s).
