Abstract

The Alfred T. and Mary Rasmussen Wedding Anniversary Scrapbooks include volumes 2 and 3 of a three volume set compiled in celebration of the Rasmussen's 50th wedding anniversary in 1954. Volume 2 contains letters of congratulations from family and friends; Volume 3 contains correspondence, newspaper clippings, and photographs of the Anita Ziegler family of Germany. Volume 1 is not present in this collection.

The Annie M. Hanscome Papers contain materials related to Hanscome's teaching career in La Crosse, Wisconsin; genealogical information for the Hanscome family (including Anne Anderson Hanscome, Rev. Thomas Smith, and Oliver and Ruth (Kid) Hanscome); and correspondence with family members. Materials range in date from 1864 through 1916, some materials are not dated.



Annie M. Hanscome lived 1828-1904, and worked as a teacher in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

The Benton Family Photograph Album contains images of the Benton family of La Crosse, Wisconsin, taken during the 1850s and 1860s. Most photographs are not identified; some photographs that are identified include: John M. Stewart, Clara Titus, Samuel Titus, Leonard S. Hall, Susan Dalton, and Isaac Dalton. Some images were taken in Ohio.

Abstract

Two photograph albums belonging to Benton L. Minor of La Crosse, Wisconsin. Photographs in the first album are of Minor and the Minor family. Some photographs depict Minor in the military during World War II; also included are photos of Camp New Wood of the Civilian Conservation Corps Company 2616: 2nd Subdistrict McCoy. The other album contains images taken by Minor during his military service in Europe and northern Africa during World War II.

Daniel Reed Wheeler Letter

Photocopy of a military letter written in 1837 by Daniel Reed Wheeler to his brother and a typescript of that letter. Daniel Reed Wheeler was a former La Crosse, Wisconsin judge who died in 1857, and is buried in Oak Grove cemetery.
