Abstract
A coordinated project of the University of Wisconsin Extension, the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse, and the Downtown La Crosse Business Association, this visual representation and analysis of downtown La Crosse businesses, streets, and buildings gives a glimpse of what downtown La Crosse, Wisconsin, looked like in November-December 1977. The project consists of 212 identified slides that were taken from the original collection of 1000. Also included are a press release and a script of the slide show which was originally intended to be shown from two projectors.
The slides are arranged by address.
Arrangement
The slides are arranged by address starting with Front Street and then numbered streets. The numbered streets are followed by named streets in alphabetical order. Each slide is numbered and there is a cross reference list provided by the name of the business. The names of businesses used are those that were in operation at the time the slides were taken in November 1977 rather than the names currently in use.
